Hosts will no longer be allowed to require guests to carry out time-consuming cleaning tasks, such as stripping beds, taking out the rubbish, or washing and putting away the dishes before departure. These tasks should be covered as part of the property’s cleaning and maintenance arrangements.

However, property owners will still be able to set reasonable house rules regarding check-in and check-out times, the maximum number of guests, smoking, noise and pets.

Cleaning fees must also be clearly included in the price displayed at the time of booking. The aim is to make pricing more transparent and avoid unpleasant surprises for holidaymakers.

If these new rules are not respected, the host’s listing may receive a visible warning on the platform.

These changes highlight the importance of professional management in the holiday rental market. For property owners, the quality of services, transparent booking conditions and guest satisfaction are essential to maintaining the long-term value of their property.

At Maisons du Sud-Ouest, our holiday rental service helps you maximise your property’s potential and manage your rentals, with personalised support tailored to your needs and the expectations of holidaymakers.
